I do require that my patients receive a diagnosis following a video exam of their vocal cords by an ENT (preferably a laryngologist, who is a voice-specialized ENT). Knowing exactly what is going on with your vocal cords helps me tailor your treatment for the most effective outcomes. Ideally, you will receive this evaluation prior to beginning voice therapy. However, in certain cases, I will go ahead and begin seeing a patient to provide preliminary therapeutic guidance aimed to enhance vocal health while they are working on getting in to see a laryngologist. If you’re looking for help finding a laryngologist, don’t hesitate to reach out. I am happy to provide resources.

Yes, singing voice therapy is a large portion of my practice, which is available for singers with vocal injuries or muscular imbalances.

I am committed to accommodating last-minute or after-hours appointments for urgent voice needs whenever possible, including weekends and evenings. As a former performer, I understand that waiting a week or through the weekend to address a voice issue can be far from ideal.
I also prioritize prompt documentation of your progress and timely communication of this information with your doctor. This helps ensure you receive coordinated care and the necessary treatment as quickly as possible.
"Caroline Murrah was my voice therapist for… damaged vocal cords due to an emergency surgery…”
Her leadership and guidance restored my ability to communicate with others comfortably while restoring my self-confidence. Of the numerous professionals whom I have met in various therapy roles, Caroline is one of the rare few who can extract the individual needs of the patient and quickly establish an effective program... My recovery came with new, weekly challenges that were met with a smile and continued results! So grateful."

“Perhaps by now you’ve been told that my condition has improved markedly. I quickly pointed out to the doctor that you are much much to be credited for directing my therapy. Dr. — agrees and shares my high opinion of your professional abilities, without hesitation.

Caroline Murrah was my vocal therapist and I owe much of my recovery to her…”
"I experienced a negative change in my voice following a thyroidectomy, including gravelly texture, fatigue, and an inability to express much vocal inflection at all. I had previously had a vocal range of a little over four octaves and found myself reduced to not even a full octave. As a professional voice actor of 20+ years, with much of my work coming from character and long-form narration, the idea of these after-effects limiting my ability to work were daunting to say the least...I was given exercises for recovery as well as to increase my vocal stamina. She was encouraging and insightful and helped me to regain much of what I thought I had lost. She helped me understand how to intentionally help my voice do what I had previously done without effort (much like learning to drive a stick-shift after driving an automatic) and learn awareness for when I was becoming fatigued or slipping out of the good vocal habits she was helping me develop. She had an infectious encouragement that helped me believe I could recover... I told her many times that it's unfortunate professional voice actors don't see a vocal therapist until they need help. To that end I would heartily recommend Caroline to any voice professional - don't
wait until it's a necessity!"
